HAZARD AVOIDANCE

CUSTOMIZING THE HAZARD DISPLAYS ON THE NAVIGATION MAP

With the Navigation Map Page displayed, press the MENU Key to display

the Navigation Map Page Menu. The cursor ﬂashes on the ‘Map Setup’

option.

Press the ENT Key. The Map Setup Menu is displayed. Turn the small FMS

Knob to select ‘Trafﬁc’ to customize the display of trafﬁc.

Press the small FMS Knob to return to the Navigation Map Page.

TRAFFIC INFORMATION SERVICE

Trafﬁc Symbol Description

Non-Threat Trafﬁc

(intruder is beyond 5 nm and greater than 1200’ vertical separation)

Trafﬁc Advisory (TA)

(closing rate, distance, and vertical separation meet TA criteria)

Trafﬁc Advisory Off Scale

Trafﬁc Symbol Description

NOTE: Trafﬁc Information Service (TIS) is only available when the aircraft is

within the service volume of a TIS capable terminal radar site.

Displaying Trafﬁc on the Trafﬁc Map Page

Turn the large FMS Knob to select the Map Page Group.

Turn the small FMS Knob to select the Trafﬁc Map Page.

Press the OPERATE Softkey to begin displaying trafﬁc. ‘OPERATING’ is

displayed in the Trafﬁc Mode ﬁeld.

Press the STANDBY Softkey to place the system in the Standby Mode.

‘STANDBY’ is displayed in the Trafﬁc Mode ﬁeld.

Rotate the Joystick clockwise to display a larger area or rotate counter-

clockwise to display a smaller area.

Press the TNA MUTE Softkey to mute the “Trafﬁc Not Available” aural

alert.
