Dual GIA Failure Conditions:
1. Remove power from both GIA units.
2. Check for desired results.
3. Restore power to both GIA units.
Dual GIA Failure – For a dual GIA failure, the
following shall occur:
9 COM1/NAV1 & COM2/NAV2 fields flag invalid.
9 GPS CDI flags DR on PFD, all GPS data AMBER
9 Verify that “DR” appears in amber superimposed over
the ownship icon on the MFD map and PFD inset map.
9 NAV1 & NAV2 CDI loses deviation bar.
9 XPDR field flags invalid on PFD.
9 Engine Instrument field flags invalid on MFD.
9 All AHRS & ADC fields remain valid.
9 “AHRS1 not receiving any GPS information” alert
given.
9 Red AFCS status annunciation given.*
9 TAWS FAIL annunciation given.*
9 ADF/DME windows flag invalid.*
(SW v0321.22 or later)
Dual GIA Failure Conditions:
1. Remove power from both GIA units.
2. Check for desired results.
3. Restore power to both GIA units.
Dual GIA Failure – For a dual GIA failure, the
following shall occur:
9 COM1/NAV1 & COM2/NAV2 fields flag invalid.
9 GPS CDI flags LOI on PFD, all GPS data is removed
from the GPS Fields
9 Verify that “NO GPS POSITION” appears in amber
superimposed over the ownship icon on the MFD map
and PFD inset map.
9 “GPS NAV LOST” alert is given.
9 NAV1 & NAV2 CDI loses deviation bar.
9 XPDR field flags invalid on PFD.
9 “XPDR 1 Fail” alert is given.
9 Engine Instrument field flags invalid on MFD.
9 All AHRS & ADC fields remain valid.
9 “AHRS1 not receiving any GPS information” alert
given.
9 “GMA1 Fail” alert given.
9 “Traffic Fail” alert given.*
9 Red AFCS status annunciation given.*
9 TAWS FAIL annunciation given.*
9 ADF/DME windows flag invalid.*
9 “TRN AUD FAIL” alert given.
*If equipped.
